This song was inspired by my first 10 day silent Vipassana meditation, and not doing my 2 hours of recommended sitting a day, and to do what you can, when you can, and never be too hard on yourself. The lyric, "you always have another chance," was inspired by my first Ayahuasca ceremony, in which at one point I had almost lost all hope, and was starting to believe I had failed and everyone was going to ascend. She told me to be gentle on myself and she, he, it, god, jah, whatever you want to call that thing there, will always forgive me.
lyrics
Sit like the Buddha when you can
Sit like Buddha, see the truth behind the curtains
The cause of all your hittin
Is that We attached too this shit that don’t last
It’s all just slippin into the past
So be here now with me
Feel your breath raise your chest
Release the stress acquiesced
Don’t give a damn just give a bless
Open up The treasure chest in your heart
This is your home, at the start the sound of om
The sacred drone You can not own,
but it’s your own
like these Bones made of stones,
Sticks and streams
Hopes and dreams
Make believe,
Make peace with what is
Cuz it it is and that’s it
So sit like Buddha when you can
And never forget to dance
Sit like buddha when you can
You always have another chance
Sit like Buddha, see the truth behind the curtains
That nothing is for certain
Except the peace behind it all
Hear the echoes in the halls, singin our the song of Jah
Love is all we are
This is all we have
We are one the sum of none
Birth from the fires of suns
We are riding vibrations
We are writing our stories
On paper made of skin, the ink is bleeding from deep within
Inide me lies something you cannot touch
Something you cannot rush
I feel the rush of it all, ruminating on the rhythms of the fall
How beautiful
the dance of the leaf as it lets go
of all it knows
Sit like Buddha, see the truth behind the curtains
The cause of all your hittin
Is that We attached too this shit that don’t last
It’s all just slippin into the past
So be here now with me
So sit like Buddha when you can
And never forget to dance
Sit like buddha when you can
You always have another chance
